| Hey folks - its been a while... here's a little update on my spring break
The first 10 days were spent in Kandern mostly. I was on the soccer missions trip, and we helped out witht he icec conference and stuff... i think we moved about a thousand tables and chairs. But there was some soccer in the soccer missions tirp, believe it or not. Three days were spent up at the military base in K-town where we played a game, (and won) and had some pizza with the other team. The next day at k-town we did a homeless outreach dealie with one of mr. greathouse's friends ... and then the next day we did a speed soccer tournament. The rest of the trip was just moving stuff.. and uh.. a little bit of paintball. Actually it wasnt paintball it was called reball.. and we had these rubberish balls instead of paintballs. but anyway, that was great
so on to the important stuff - Italia basically its been beautiful weather the whole time. I dont think i've seen a single cloud in the last week. Mainly we've just been eating and sleeping and chilling... we went to the beach once, we went to venice the other day, and we went shopping in the center. I think today we might go to this rock climbing place... but .. all good things must come to an end. we leave on the train tomorrow morning. I will see you all shortly.

| Well I thought I would give a more acurate report of my trip to budapest since no one commented on the previous one. heh. So basically, I was kinda apprehensive at first because... you know.. choir people sometimes have that effect. But once I got over that it was actually pretty fun. We basically just ate and sang the whole time, with one trip to the city for shopping and eating. (Burger king baby!) wohoo. And we also had these amazing cinnemon pastry dealies. So good. One thing that I really appreciated was the pace at which we learned the music. It seemed to me more like a college-level intensity (not that I know from experience with college, but because the director was a college choir director, and he said that he was going at that pace)... and it was way more cool because we actually learned stuff, and it was pretty exciting when we performed it. I might have a video on here soon. I think there's one on youtube but the stupid DANSGUARDIAN! won't let me see it. oh well. anyway, yeah also I got very little sleep in light of the english paper. But oh well, its done now. Right well.. i've got homework to make up. blah. Love Josh
*I'll put pictures from the trip up soon hopefully
| The land is beautiful in Germany. Seeing the blue between the blooming leaves was refreshing after so many weeks of rain and gloomy clouds. Isn’t it funny how life is dictated by such small things, like the weather, or a smile that catches the end of someone’s lips as they see you across the hall. But we had grown very tired of the routine of high school. Plus, dorm life gets really old with nothing to do on the weekend. There was always too much to think about – too much going on. We had wanted to get away for a few days, and this particularly lazy sunny Sunday was the perfect time. We met on the path going up the hill, and spoke wonderingly was we wandered through the orchards and fields of grass. It was the kind of conversation that never stops, yet never really goes anywhere. Perfect for a walk to nowhere in particular. We came across a tree. I filled our vision with calm green, and we looked at it for a few seconds while the birds contributed to our conversation. It was a perfect, beautiful tree with low branches and smooth bark, which is perfect for climbing. Without really thinking about it, I helped her up the first branch, and we climbed up branch by branch. We were on top of the world. We found a perfect place to sit, and I saw the calming leaves cast a shadow that moved back and forth over her eyes, so the sun twinkled mysteriously. Her cheeks were the velvet leaves. The birds were singing of spring as I lay staring into the sky. It slid its blue cover under my eyelids, and I dreamed. I saw myself, reclining on the branch, and she was next to me. Our hands were almost touching. She was sleeping comfortably, sharing my dream. The world was sleeping in spring. I looked out over the hills, from the sky and saw us in our tree, but dark clouds gathered. They cast a shadow coming closer and closer to our hill. We didn’t notice and slept on. Then I looked down in my dream, and seemed to zoom back into the branch. Suddenly, there was a jerk. I slid downward. My hand was being stretched, and stretched downward and I slid from the branch, the bark scraping my side. She was holding my arm as we fell past the branches, which were a blur of brown and green. I saw her eye, and in it the sun, twinkling still under the blurred shadows.
The sky escaped from my dreaming eye, and I woke up. My eyes focused to see her there beside me still. I sighed easily and watched as her eyes opened weakly, and stared into mine. I could feel her arm still holding mine, her hands were white; my arm was scratched and red. The grass poked up between our eyes. We looked at each other, one last time before we lost focus and closed our eyes. The cloud came, and the raindrops fell on us and our dream.

| So I was thinking... valentine's day was pretty cool. I mean.. there are pretty much a lot of people who love a lot of other people, and its like the love that was there was hiding in a closet, and on valentine's day, the closet door was blown open, and all these pink hearts came floating out.
i dont think we should close the door.
